Intelligent safety systems to minimise risk of traffic accidents
More vehicles on the roads, a faster and more intense traffic flow and a distracting stream of information all impose considerable demands on both commercial vehicle drivers and car drivers. Volvo Trucks has developed different safety support systems for the driver to prevent accidents.
One of the support system is automatic emergency brake which has been a legal demand since November 2015 in EU. Volvo Trucks has developed a system that goes well beyond both current and future legal requirements.
Volvo Trucks´ Collision warning with Emergency Brake demonstrates one of the industry’s most advances safety technologies. It monitors the vehicles in front with the help of both camera and radar technology. The emergency brake is only used if it is absolutely necessary, and it is deployed extremely quickly. The system also functions on curvy roads.
