Sant’Agata Bolognese, May 31, 2016.

With two races held both on Monday, because of the Spring Bank Holiday Sunday in the UK, the third round of the British GT Championship ended with a rich booty for Barwell Motorsport. The two Lamborghini Huracán GT3s started in first and second position on grid after Saturday’s qualifying sessions and finished Race 1 in first and seventh place respectively at Oulton Park.

The car number 6, driven by the duo Griffin-Carrol who climbed to the top step of the podium, marks the first victory of the season for Barwell Motorsport and Lamborghini in the British GT Championship. The car number 33, with Minshaw/Keen behind the wheel, however, did not manage to do no better than seventh place, due a penalty received during the pit stop.

The Lamborghini Huracán GT3, driven by Jon Minshaw and Phil Keen, somehow took its revenge during Race 2, which was also held on Monday, by taking the third step of the podium. Fifth place, however, for the second car of the team Barwell Motorsport, whereas the car number 6 had won with Adam Carrol and Liam Griffin a few hours before.

The next round of the British GT Championship will take place at Silverstone on the weekend of June 11-12.

First win for the Lamborghini Huracán GT3 also in the Italian GT Championship. At Autodromo di Imola, the duo of the team Imperiale Racing formed by Mirko Bortolotti and Jeroen Mul has obtained the victory in Race 1. A win achieved after Bortolotti took the pole position on Saturday morning and completed with a perfect race conduct.

Race 2 was definitely more chaotic. Due to the heavy rain, the race had to start  under the Safety Car and then it was permanently stopped 17 minutes earlier with a red flag. The final results saw the Lamborghini Huracán GT3 of Stefano Pezzucchi and Giovanni Venturini (Imperiale Racing) and the one of Lamborghini GT3 Junior Drivers Riccardo Agostini and Alberto Di Folco (Antonelli Motorsport) occupy the second and third positions respectively.

The third round of the Italian GT Championship will be held on July 11 – 12 in Misano Adriatico.
