Celebrating 30 years of the Sakharov Prize

The EU’s Sakharov Prize for freedom of thought is awarded every year to an individual or organisation from anywhere in the world for outstanding achievements in upholding human rights and fundamental freedoms. This year, the European Parliament is celebrating its 30th anniversary by inviting previous award winners to a debate with MEPs, journalists and representatives from other organisations, including the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights.
