Wins breed wins for Partick Kujala, and lining-up for the second round of the 2015 Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo Europe at Silverstone, the Finnish racer was once again unstoppable. After winning both races at Monza, Kujala tamed the 5.9-kilometer British track from qualifying to the end, scoring a stunning double pole position and a victory in Race 1 before prevailing in a rain-affected second race.
Thanks to a repeat performance of his accomplishments in Round 1 in Italy, Kujala also strengthened his overall championship lead. The second spot on the podium was grabbed by Antonelli Motorsport with Daniel Zampieri and Roman Mavlanov. The Italian-Russian duo rebounded after a tough start to the weekend featuring a contact in practice, and took a valuable second place. Ending up third were the pairing of Sergio Campana and Fabrizio Crestani, who handed Team Lazarus another podium finish.
On the other hand, Patric Niederhauser was much less lucky. After starting from the front row, the Swissman was forced to get back to the pits for good after just a few minutes. He and his Raton Racing team-mate, Edoardo Liberati, did not have the chance to try and repeat yesterday's second place.
Fourth place was captured by the Vincenzo Sospiri Racing and the duo of Shinya Michimi and Kei Cozzolino, who stayed among the frontrunners throughout and were followed over the line by Florian Spengler (Bonaldi Motorsport).
Alberto Di Folco experienced an up-and-down race with the second Raton Racing car. The young Italian, who was given a stop-and-go due to a pit infringement, put together a steady recovery that brought him all the way up to fourth place, but was forced to retire following a contact with just two minutes to go.
Sixth place overall and the PRO-AM class win went to Swissman Adrian Amstutz (Konrad Motorsport) who was followed in the same category by the pairings of Mikko Eskelinen-Kelvin Snoeks (Leipert Motorsport) and Mikhail Stepanov-Harald Schlegelmilch (Artline Team Georgia).Shota Abkhazava (Artline Team Georgia) cruised to the AM honours after taking second place yesterday, edging out Mark Ineichen (Konrad Motorsport) while Eugenio and Sergio Montez (Veloso Motorsport) ended up third.
Argentinian Andres Josephsohn and Puerto Rican Ricardo Vera cruised to victory amongst the Gallardo LP 570-4 Super Trofeo pack.
The next round of the Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo Europe is scheduled for the 19th, 20th and 21st of June at the French Circuit Paul Ricard.
