“Workshop LIVE” − technicians performing maintenance work

Insight into agri mechanics profession first-hand - Hourly presentations at the International Dealer and Service Center will show today’s agricultural technicians at work – Computer diagnostics and maintenance

(DLG). In cooperation with the LandBauTechnik-Bundesverband, the Agritechnica feature "Workshop Live" in Hall 2 will use practical demonstrations and live commentary during hourly presentations of maintenance and conversion work on farm equipment, from tractors to harvesting machines, to highlight the requirements for the various qualification levels - trainee, service technician and master craftsman - for agricultural and construction machinery technicians.

Since 2005, Workshop LIVE has provided a behind-the-scenes look at the job of the agricultural technician, and this year it will again feature team of 12 real people from exhibiting companies, including several young women, proof that agricultural technology does not have to be a male domain live in action.

The half-hour shows in the "Workshop live" will take place every hour on the hour between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. on all seven exhibition days. During the sessions, job scouts will be on hand to offer tips on job applications and internships in the companies participating. As in previous years, the "Workshop Live" special is located in Hall 2, Stand E40.

In addition to the live maintenance sessions, which will focus on nine different machines, , there will be an extensive range of information on the part of the training providers on the profession of agricultural technicians.

“The service technician’s role is certainly more technical than ever, but while high-tech electronics and on-board computers mean farm machinery is more complex, the farm equipment is also more reliable. The role of those employed in this vital career covers a wide spectrum of skills, not only repairs but also preventative maintenance as this give dealers an early warning of likely component failures,” says Heinzbert Mies.

During the course of the seven days at Agritechnica we will showcase more than 50 live demonstrations involving repair work on tractors and other equipment “

“This is a good opportunity for students between the ages of 14 and 17 who want to start out in an attractive and versatile skilled profession after completing their schooling, “ explains Heinzbert Mies, project manager for the International Dealer and Service Center, DLG.

“This is also a great opportunity to show the exciting and challenging side of the profession, as it involves working with technology that is constantly evolving and improving. Nothing could be more perfect for someone who enjoys working with their hands, and with tractors.” Concludes Mies.

The sessions will start on the hour from 10:00 to 17:00 hrs, and the machines featured this year include:
