An exciting "face to face"

Release Date: 22 Oct 2015

Pol Rosell (Baporo Motorsport), holder of the current SEAT Leon Eurocup crown and the hungry challenger, Stian Paulsen (Paulsen Racing), give their views ahead of the final race of the season at Barcelona.

The last fixture of the campaign will take place at the Circuit de Catalunya-Barcelona on November 1st and will see confirmation of the 2015 champion of the SEAT Leon Eurocup. Reigning number one Pol Rosell (Baporo Motorsport) takes on Norwegian rival Stian Paulsen (Stian Paulsen Racing), and with both drivers tied on points in the standings the latter has a fantastic chance to dethrone the Spaniard. In the first of their 'battles' – this time off the track – here is the opening head-to-head before the thrilling '15 SEAT Leon Eurocup finale.

How will you approach the season-closer at Barcelona?

Stian Paulsen, (Stian Paulsen racing): "The last one at Barcelona will be pretty complicated. I would have liked to have arrived at the final race with a bit more of a cushion in the standings but we're tied on points and last season's winner, Pol Rosell, is driving on home turf so I believe he will have more pressure. I have a good feeling and I hope I can go out and win the meeting."

How do you feel about the duel with Stian at your home circuit?

Pol Rosell (Baporo Motorsport): "I like arriving to the last race in this situation. It is very exciting just as much for us as the followers of the SEAT Leon Eurocup. I'm racing at 'home' so I'm really motivated and fired up for it; I think it will be more difficult for Stian. Catalunya is a track I really like and where I feel very comfortable. I will have a good chance."

Stian, what are Pol's weak points?

(SP): "Pol is a great driver, I have no doubt about that. His weak points? I'm not totally sure: he is very consistent even though I think he will face a lot of pressure at Barcelona and that could make him more vulnerable. I have beaten him in the last four outings and I hope I can repeat this in Barcelona. To win the championship is my goal."

And for you Pol? Where can you attack Stian?

(PR): "Stian Paulsen is a driver that we really get along well with…even though we all know that there is no such thing as friends on the track. Where is he weak? He is a very good driver and I cannot totally say….things will be how they will be. I hope to beat him and keep the SEAT Leon Eurocup crown".

The races in Barcelona will take place on October 31st and November 1st and will be shown live through the official SEAT channel on Youtube. The races can also be followed through the live stream by the new App for the SEAT Leon Eurocup that can be downloaded for all mobile devices.
