ABB State−of−the−Art Microgrid to Power African Hub of the International Committee of the Red Cross

The ICRC’s logistics centre in Nairobi is to be powered by a new ABB hybrid microgrid, allowing the humanitarian group to integrate clean solar power reliably to their local power supply and reduce carbon emissions. The technology has broad applications across Africa to help provide access to electricity in areas without reliable power infrastructure.
