Farming professionals from New Zealand to explore technical solutions at world’s largest agricultural machinery trade fair

(DLG). This week Agritechnica 2025, the world’s largest agricultural machinery trade fair, is being previewed to farming professionals from New Zealand who will attend the local trade show Fieldays in Hamilton, New Zealand, 11-14 June. Farmers from New Zealand are increasingly visiting Agritechnica, using the international platform to find suitable solutions for arable farms. This preview is part of the “Agritechnica on Tour” series, which brings insights from the world’s leading agricultural machinery trade fair to farmers, companies, and experts through a series of in-country events.

At the New Zealand-based Fieldays, Agritechnica will be represented at the German Pavilion, site M14, organized by the German New Zealand Chamber of Commerce and the DLG (German Agricultural Society). The stand will highlight topics of particular relevance to New Zealand’s farming sector, including the Digital Farm Center, which presents practical digital tools for efficient farm management. Over the four event days, the German pavilion is hosting daily receptions with representatives from the EU, Germany and the New Zealand Ministry of Agriculture.

Visitors from New Zealand will gain insight into the full range of technologies on display at Agritechnica in Hanover, Germany, 9–15 November, covering all stages of the farming process—from tractors and tillage to sprayers, harvesters, and data-driven systems.

This year’s Agritechnica event introduces the new “7 Days – 7 Topics” concept, offering targeted programming for specific visitor groups such as family farms, large-scale operations, contractors, dealers, and international professionals.

The last Agritechnica event welcomed several delegations from Oceania, including  New Zealand and Australia, totalling some 1,000 farming professionals.

The Agritechnica team will be available at the Fieldays until 14 June.

New Zealand’s arable farmers are increasingly adopting digital technologies such as spatial soil mapping and variable rate irrigation to improve efficiency and yields. However, challenges such as rural connectivity and cost-benefit uncertainty remain. Agritechnica 2025 addresses these issues with practical solutions, including  sensor networks, cloud-integrated platforms, and smart farming systems designed to operate in low-connectivity environments.

Under the guiding theme “Touch Smart Efficiency,” Agritechnica 2025 will demonstrate how smart technologies can enhance productivity while supporting sustainable resource use. Visitors will have the opportunity to explore equipment and systems hands-on—from combine harvester interfaces to digital farm management tools.

The DLG, organizer of Agritechnica, is already active in the Oceanian region, supporting local farmers with knowledge and expertise in agricultural machinery and crop production systems. In 2024, Agritechnica began as a partner of the premiere of the FutureAg Expo in Melbourne, Australia, an event that attracts farming professionals from across Oceania. The event provides a regional platform for exploring practical technologies and encouraging international exchange in arable farming. The event is organized by Hannover Fairs Australia (HFA), a subsidiary of Deutsche Messe AG with DLG as partner. The next FutureAg Expo takes place in Melbourne from 6 to 8 August 2025. More
