Introducing new FF LUXE™ PLUS foam and updated cushioning geometry, the new GEL-NIMBUS™ 29 shoe delivers an extra plush and comfortable running experience designed to help runners go further.
Kobe, Japan, 29 October 2026– ASICS today proudly announces the launch of the 29th generation of the GEL-NIMBUS™ shoe. Celebrated for its signature cloud-like cushioning, the latest evolution of the iconic running shoe introduces new technologies designed to deliver even greater comfort and help runners move both body and mind.
At the heart of the GEL-NIMBUS™ 29 shoe is the new FF LUXE™ PLUS foam. This lightweight, plush foam technology delivers excellent softness underfoot, creating a comfortable, effortless feeling designed to support runners as the miles add up. The shoe’s newly shaped sole features a wave pattern on the bottom that allows for extra compression, creating a softer, more comfortable feel. PureGEL™ technology is also strategically positioned under the heel to enhance shock absorption and support softer landings.
Comfort extends to the upper, where a new engineered mesh construction balances softness, breathability and structure to create a premium fit. A knitted tongue and ribbed collar comfortably wrap the foot, while a convenient pull tab makes the shoe easier to slip on. Underfoot, the HYBRID ASICSGRIP™ outsole features greater rubber coverage than the previous model, providing reliable grip and durability across a variety of surfaces. The shoe also maintains a lightweight feel, weighing approximately 279g for men and 238g for women.
The feeling of comfort is also expressed through the shoe’s “Soaring Cloud” design concept, inspired by the uplifting sensation of floating on an updraft. The sculpted midsole takes cues from the flowing movement of clouds and the intuitive lines of classical Japanese painting, while gentle color shifts and bright accents evoke sunlight illuminating the edges of a cloud.
This considered approach extends to the shoe’s environmental impact. In line with ASICS’ commitment to a brighter tomorrow, the GEL-NIMBUS™ 29 shoe has a carbon footprint of 11.4kg CO₂e per pair.
