Release Date: 03 Dec 2020   |   Dublin, Ireland
Brazil TIM

Dublin, Ireland. December 3, 2020. Cubic Telecom has expanded its global IoT software solution to Brazil by obtaining an Autorizada Licence and establishing a partnership with TIM Brasil, the leading Brazilian 4G network with nationwide coverage across 3,500 cities. Forging this strategic partnership with TIM Brasil, Cubic Telecom will extend its quality IoT solutions for global customers to Brazil - a country with the seventh largest automotive market, based on new car registrations, and the fourth largest producer of food in the world.

Cubic Telecom’s software is embedded and installed in a vehicle, machine or device at the point of manufacture, anywhere in the world. With this announcement, Cubic Telecom now offers its blue chip customers in the automotive and agriculture industries the ability to roll out new IoT connected software solutions locally in Brazil, safely, securely, and compliantly. This provides regulatory compliance certainty for manufacturers, and future-proofs solutions  for the long lifecycle of the vehicle or device.

The Autorizada licence was issued by Brazil’s National Telecommunications Agency,  Agência Nacional de Telecomunicações (Anatel). Due to the unique and strictly applied prohibition on permanent roaming, which operates in the country, a single global solution has not been possible locally for regulatory compliance reasons to date.  With the launch of this new solution, Cubic Telecom’s customers can deploy global products for localised use without any concerns about regulatory and compliance restrictions.

We are delighted to announce our partnership with TIM Brasil,” said Cubic Telecom CEO Barry Napier.  “We can now, for the first time, enable blue-chip customers to overcome the long-standing challenge of connecting technologies in Brazil, which is very important for the automotive and agriculture sectors. Brazil is an essential market for global automotive and IoT manufacturers, so our entry into the country demonstrates and proves our ambition, ability and commitment to establish localized support in all important regulated markets for our customers.”

“We have been working to supply the best solutions in IoT projects for corporate clients in Brazil and we are pleased to have a partnership with Cubic Telecom to help deliver the best options in the market,”  says Paulo Humberto Gouvea, Head of Corporate Solutions at TIM Brasil. “This new strategic partnership with Cubic Telecom enables OEMs to deploy localised IoT services in the lucrative Brazilian market with full compliance to the local Brazilian regulations.”

By establishing local presence, capabilities and compliance in Brazil, Cubic Telecom is expanding its global footprint and becoming a valuable partner for OEMs seeking a truly holistic solution across different markets around the world. Starting in the coming months, the initial customer launch of Cubic’s IoT software solution in Brazil will begin with global agricultural leader, Case New Holland Industrial.
