EU must vigorously defend Cyprus and Greece against Turkish aggression

The EPP Group says Europe must respond if Turkey continues to violate Cypriot and Greek sovereignty. During a debate in the European Parliament, MEPs said Turkey’s gunboat diplomacy, illegal drilling in Cypriot waters and violations of Greek airspace are not acceptable. The EPP Group says increased sanction pressure or the deployment of EU naval forces in the Eastern Mediterranean may be necessary if Turkish aggression continues.
