London, UK, 8 July 2026: Genesis Motor UK has strengthened its partnership with Michelin Star Chef, Tom Kitchin, to support his inaugural electric vehicle ownership journey with an Electrified GV70, handed over at the Genesis Studio in Edinburgh.
Having worked closely together since partnering in 2022 at the annual golf tournament, the Genesis Scottish Open, Tom and Genesis share values around themes of hospitality, craftmanship and overall customer experience through the pursuit of perfection. Each year, the celebrated culinarian crafts a thoughtful menu designed exclusively for the VIP Lounge at the Genesis Scottish Open which blends a bold fusion of both cultures - Korean and Scottish - using the finest ingredients and techniques from each.
As the youngest Scottish chef to receive a Michelin Star at the age of 29, Tom’s culinary philosophy centres on the concept of ‘From Nature to Plate’, achieved through sourcing the finest, freshest Scottish ingredients through local suppliers and farmers who provide his restaurants with seasonal produce every day. With sustainability as a core pillar of Tom’s ethos, the decorated chef is now taking the next step as he transitions to EV ownership with an Electrified GV70.
On the elevated partnership with Genesis, Tom added: “It’s been great to get behind the wheel of a Genesis and deepen our collaboration having worked together for a number of years at the Genesis Scottish Open. I’ve been very impressed with the brand’s achievement around hospitality and how to create memorable guest experiences.
I’ve always had a focus on sustainability practices in our business, and like most car owners at some point, I have been considering the shift to EV for some time. I’ve only been with the car a few weeks and it’s already apparent how customer focused the technology is at making that shift easier.”
Ben Sargeant, Director of Genesis and Customer Strategy and Genesis Motor UK, added: “As a brand that is deeply rooted in hospitality and a Son-Nim customer experience through the most compelling product proposition, we are delighted to see Tom join our brand family with an Electrified GV70. With such an active role in Scotland celebrating the finest cuisine, this is a natural extension to our existing relationship with shared values on both sides”.
Genesis will work collaboratively with Tom on several culinary projects that will bring together Genesis’ ethos of Son-Nim hospitality and the chef’s award-winning approach to exquisite culinary experience that uplifts local communities. Kicking off the extension, Genesis and Tom have released a short format film to celebrate the partnership and unpack some of those early EV learnings Tom has experienced. In follow up films Genesis and Tom will explore the collaborative and shared values around the Genesis Scottish Open.
