London, UK, 13 May 2026: Following the launch of the inaugural Genesis European Golf Cup, Genesis Motor UK hosted its first amateur UK tournament at the award-winning golf club – The Grove - bringing together customers and golf fans alike.
New to Genesis for 2026, the Genesis European Golf Cup is an amateur league offering the opportunity for Genesis customers and golfers the chance to compete in local qualifying tournaments at iconic courses across Europe, including the UK, Italy, France and Germany.
On 9 May, four winners including an existing Genesis customer, secured a place to participate at the European Final on 13 July. Taking place at The Renaissance Club during the Genesis Scottish Open, all finalists from each local qualifying tournament will be hosted as guests of Genesis at the tournament from 11 to 13 July.
Hosted at The Grove, one of the UK’s most prestigious golf courses and home to the 2006 World Golf Championship and 2016 British Masters, just under 80 lucky attendees who entered the free ballot experienced a day of Genesis’ trademark son-nim hospitality, complete with exclusive course use and player’s lounge access.
Ashley Andrew, President and CEO of Genesis and Hyundai Motor UK, officiated the prizegiving ceremony, which alongside the main winners included special prizes for longest shot and nearest shot.
He said: “For over a decade, Genesis has nurtured a renowned affiliation with golf all over the world, including right here in the UK as we enter our fourth year of partnership with The Genesis Scottish Open, extended until 2020. However, the Genesis European Golf Cup is the first of its kind for the brand, offering a fantastic opportunity to connect with our revered customers as well as golf enthusiasts. It has been a truly special day, and I’d like to thank all those who joined us for the inaugural tournament. A huge congratulations to the winners, we look forward to seeing you in the final at the Genesis Scottish Open in July.”

Local qualifying tournaments were/are being held between 1 April and 23 May 2026, across six locations in four European countries:
1 April – Golf della Montecchia, Padova, Italy
11 April – Gold de Bondues, Lille, France
29 April – Olgiata Golf Club, Rome, Italy
9 May – The Grove, London, UK
20 May – Golf Club Carimate, Milan, Italy
23 May – Golf Club Kronberg, Frankfurt, Germany
To be eligible to compete in the Genesis European Golf Cup, individuals who participated had to meet the following criteria:
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Be a legal resident in the country in which they hope to compete
- Hold a valid and officially registered handicap index (HCP) of -36.0 or below, issued by a recognised national golf federation
At each event, up to four winners will secure a place to participate at the European Final taking place at The Renaissance Club during the Genesis Scottish Open. Finalists will be hosted as guests of Genesis at the tournament from 11 to 13 July, playing in the Genesis European Golf Cup Final on 13 July.
