IMFC Calls for Stronger Cooperation on Comprehensive Policy Mix to Promote Inclusive Growth
Release Date: 22 April 2017
The world’s financial leaders vowed to work together to support strong economic growth while helping those who have been left behind.
In a news conference after the Spring Meetings of the International Monetary and Financial Committee, IMF Managing Director Christine Lagarde said the membership realized “we have probably moved from high financial and economic risks to more geopolitical risks.”
She also noted that for the first time in her tenure, the proposed Global Policy Agenda was approved by the entire membership. Lagarde said the IMF will follow that framework to promote inclusive and broad-based growth.
