23 May 2024 - The Olympic Games Paris 2024 are being held exactly a century after Paris 1924, which took place for the second time in the French capital, thanks largely to Pierre de Coubertin, founder of the modern Olympic Games.

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) invites you to an online roundtable on Pierre de Coubertin, during which we will discuss the vision, the motivations, the views and the legacy of the reviver of the Olympic Games.

  • Language: English and French, with simultaneous interpretation

During this media roundtable, his much-debated views on several topics will be addressed, and you will have the opportunity to put your questions directly to the expert panel which includes:

  • Alexandra de Navacelle, President of the Pierre de Coubertin Family Association
  • George Hirthler, writer, producer and sports historian
  • Guy Drut, IOC member in France

Please note that, as part of the registration process, we may ask you to provide a press card or a letter from your editor in order for us to accept your registration. You will receive an email with a link to the video teleconference.

During the Q&A session, to address the panel, please use the “raise hand” function. Once you are called upon to ask your question, we request that you turn on your camera and microphone to put your question to the panel.
