Best-farming practice, knowledge, exchange and networking: Specialized programs for visitors from France, the Czech Republic, and Canada who enter for free with prior registration

(DLG). Farmers from Canada, the Czech Republic and France will be in focus at Agritechnica’s International Farmers Day on 12 November, a full-day presentation and networking program examining both the challenges and progressive practices shaping agriculture in these advanced farming regions. Organized by the German Agricultural Society (DLG), Agritechnica — the world’s largest trade fair for agricultural machinery — features these farmer events to explore approaches with global relevance

"Farmers from these countries are facing a range of challenges and are therefore using diverse cultivation systems and alternative technologies. This situation is helping them expand their perspectives, which in turn encourages exchange between countries," says Dr. Bruno Görlach, Head of Crop Production and Agricultural Machinery, DLG.

Now in its third edition, International Farmers Day highlights different countries at each Agritechnica. Visitors from these countries enter Agritechnica free of charge, with prior registration, on Wednesday, the mid-point of the trade fair.

Practical farmers, machinery and crop professionals, as well as policy decision-makers, researchers and DLG experts, will present on digital farming, crop strategies, and farm management. Starting at 10:00, the full-day programmes include international panels, pop-up talks, evening events and networking.

The International Farmers Day takes place in Hall 24 at dedicated venues, including the Expert Stage “Smart Efficiency” and DLG Studio Stage. Czech, English and French translations will be offered for selected program points and the International Visitors Lounge will be a place to network.

At Agritechnica visitors from Canada, Czech Republic and France have increased steadily over the past decade, with French and Czech visitors in the top ten, 7,300 and 4,700 respectively. More than 2,400 visitors from Canada attended the last trade fair. Exhibitors from all three countries are in the top 20 with 106 from France, 37 from Canada and 35 from the Czech republic.

About the International Farmers Day

The International Farmers Day aims to present best-practice examples and explore farmers’ challenges and solutions in key agricultural regions. The event is relevant not only to the focus countries but also those in Europe and worldwide who look to particular best-practice countries for guidance on technical advances in crop production.
