Team Engstler’s Finn Zulauf and Felix Hirsiger win race two at Zandvoort
Sant’Agata Bolognese/Zandvoort, 24 May 2026 – Lamborghini extended its lead at the top of the ADAC GT Masters standings after Team Engstler Motorsport's Finn Zulauf and Felix Hirsiger claimed their second victory of the season in race two at Zandvoort.
The pairing, at the wheel of their #63 Lamborghini Huracán GT3 EVO, finished fourth in the opening one-hour race of the weekend on Saturday before making the most of a strong qualifying to win a restarted second race on Sunday.
Zulauf and Hirsiger now lead the drivers’ standings by 18 points heading into the third round of the year at the Lausitzring next month.
Historically a strong track for the Huracán GT3 (with previous victories coming in 2018, 2019, 2022 and 2025), the 4.259km Zandvoort again proved a happy hunting ground for the Sant’Agata Bolognese brand. Zulauf and Hirsiger ended the opening practice session ninth quickest before improving to fourth in the second session.
The #63 qualified fifth on the grid for the opening race and, with an additional 5kg of success ballast in the car, courtesy of their third-place finish in race two in Austria, did well to run inside the top four during the opening stint, moving up a position at the start.
Zulauf then swapped with Hirsiger at the mandatory driver-change pit-stop, with the #63 initially dropping to seventh before passing the #39 Aston Martin with 19 minutes remaining. The field was then bunched up again behind the safety car after an incident for the sister #163 Huracán of Jonas Karklys. That gave Hirsiger some hope in the closing stages, and the Swiss driver made good progress in the final minutes, getting past both the #9 Porsche and then the #41 Porsche to claim fourth position at the flag.
In second qualifying, Hirsiger secured his place on the front-row of the grid with the second-fastest time, despite a trip through the gravel trap on his first flying attempt. With no success ballast for the second race, the #63 with Hirsiger at the wheel maintained its place inside the top five despite dropping two spots at the start.
Hirsiger elected to pit at the start of the window, giving Zulauf the maximum amount of time in the second stint to use the pace of the car. Zulauf then cycled to the lead after the pit window closed and maintained the head of the field after the race was red flagged with around 20 minutes left.
Zulauf got a solid getaway at the restart and was rarely troubled en route to victory by 7.799s. The victory is Zulauf’s third in GT Masters and Hirsiger’s second in as many weekend and one which places them well for a title challenge.
