Successor to the Huracán Super Trofeo to make competition debut in 2027
Sant’Agata Bolognese/Misano Adriatico, 8 November 2025 – Lamborghini has presented the design concept of the Temerario Super Trofeo car that will make its competitive debut in the Asian, European and North American championships from 2027.
Unveiled at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli on the weekend of the traditional season-closing Lamborghini World Finals, the Temerario becomes the sixth Super Trofeo model since the launch of the Squadra Corse customer racing division of Automobili Lamborghini.
The Temerario Super Trofeo will be the successor to the hugely successful Huracán, which has been the reference vehicle of Lamborghini Super Trofeo competition over three iterations since its debut in 2015.
It follows in the wheel tracks of the Temerario GT3, which was launched at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in July, and which will debut at the 12 Hours of Sebring next March. Both the Temerario GT3 and Temerario Super Trofeo will continue Lamborghini Squadra Corse’s commitment to customer racing.
“In 2009 we made the bold decision to launch the Gallardo Super Trofeo,” stated Stephan Winkelmann, CEO of Automobili Lamborghini. “Lamborghini was not born as a racing brand, yet our customers — more than 1300 drivers have competed in Super Trofeo — have constantly asked us for a product designed for the track. Over the years, Super Trofeo and customer racing have become a true pillar of our long-term company strategy, strengthening the bond between the brand and its most passionate clients. With the Temerario Super Trofeo we are taking another decisive step, reaffirming our promise to deliver a pure race car for the growing community that joins us during the Lamborghini Super Trofeo weekends.”
Lamborghini Super Trofeo has been a cornerstone of Lamborghini’s racing activities since 2009. The inaugural European edition utilised the Lamborghini Gallardo Super Trofeo for four seasons before the introduction of the Gallardo LP 570-4 Super Trofeo which was used between 2013 and 2015.
The Gallardo LP 570-4 shared the grid with the new Huracán LP 620-2 Super Trofeo in 2015, the latter becoming the standalone competition car until the end of the 2017 season.
Two Evo iterations of the Huracán Super Trofeo followed, the first between 2018 and 2021 and the second from 2022 to the end of 2025. Over the years, Lamborghini Super Trofeo has welcomed 1,383 drivers across the European, North American, Asian and Middle East championships and has staged 563 races.
Rouven Mohr, Chief Technical Officer of Automobili Lamborghini: "The Temerario Super Trofeo is the ultimate expression of our ‘fun-to-drive’ philosophy. We created a car that is the pure racing evolution of the road going Temerario. Thanks to its direct link to the Temerario GT3, which shares many components, including the engine and gearbox — it is the ideal entry point for those eager to experience the world of GT competition."
Derived from its 800 CV (with an additional 120hp from the hybrid components) Temerario Stradale road-going counterpart, the Temerario Super Trofeo is a rear-wheel drive, 650 CV V8 twin-turbo (non-hybrid) powered car and is equipped with a six-speed sequential transmission, using the same Hoer gearbox as the Temerario GT3. With many of the components deriving from the GT3 model, the Temerario Super Trofeo is therefore the perfect training ground for aspiring gentleman and young professional drivers to progress up the ranks into GT3 competition.
Fitted with an ALU/CFK hybrid chassis with fully integrated FIA Roll Cage, the Temerario Super Trofeo is a sophisticated, high-level bespoke racing car fitted with ABS braking and a 12-point adjustable traction control. Lamborghini Squadra Corse is also proud to extend its association with key partners Pertamina (engine lubricant), Capristo (exhaust system), and KW (suspension), and BMC Air Filters.
The new Lamborghini Temerario Super Trofeo will be equipped with Dinamica Infinity, the world’s first 100% PES mono-component non-woven suede for automotive. Debuting in 2027 with Lamborghini Motorsport’s Super Trofeo, Dinamica Infinity will be featured on the dashboards, representing the next evolution of Dinamica—merging cutting-edge innovation and performance.
