LAS VEGAS – Leaders from the Las Vegas tourism and meetings industry gathered today at the iconic “Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas” sign to celebrate 15 years of IMEX America in Las Vegas and recognize the meeting and convention industry’s contributions to Southern Nevada. IMEX America, the largest trade show for the global meetings, events, and incentive travel industry, takes place Oct. 13 -15 at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center.
The sign was illuminated pink as Steve Hill, president and CEO of the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA); Vanessa Claspill, the LVCVA’s chief sales officer; Jim Gibson, Clark County commissioner and chair of the LVCVA Board of Directors; and resort sales leaders joined IMEX Group Founder and Chairman Ray Bloom and CEO Carina Bauer to commemorate the milestone.
The celebration extended across the destination with a coordinated marquee takeover along the Las Vegas Strip, underscoring the city’s longstanding partnership with IMEX America and welcoming the global meetings community.
“IMEX Group has been an extraordinary partner to Las Vegas for 15 years, and we’re grateful they continue to choose our city as the place where the international meetings community comes together,” said Hill. “Their continued confidence reflects the strength of our resort community, and the exceptional experiences Las Vegas delivers. We’re proud of this partnership and look forward to building on its success as we help shape the future of the meetings industry.”
IMEX America provides a valuable platform to showcase the breadth of Las Vegas’ distinctive offerings. Beyond the show floor, attendees experience a city that combines nearly 15 million square feet of meeting and event space with world-class dining, entertainment, sports, and cultural experiences, creating opportunities to connect, collaborate, and advance business. Over its 15-year history, IMEX America has welcomed close to 185,000 participants and generated an estimated $360 million in economic impact for Southern Nevada.
The LVCVA will use this year’s show as the launch point for “The Vegas Effect,” a new business-focused brand platform and integrated campaign. The campaign is aimed at meeting planners and business decision-makers and showcases why teams that meet in Las Vegas align faster, collaborate better, and create more momentum.
Through high-impact paid video, digital, and social media ads, the campaign highlights how the destination’s energy, scale, accessibility, infrastructure, and depth of hospitality foster meaningful connections that drive business forward. The campaign includes 30- and 60-second spots highlighting what happens when people meet in Las Vegas.
Meetings and conventions are a vital part of Southern Nevada’s tourism infrastructure. Las Vegas welcomed 6 million convention attendees in 2025, generating $17.1 billion in overall economic output for the region.
