Sphere Entertainment Co. has announced the production of a new Sphere Experience – The Rocky Horror Picture Show at Sphere. THUNDERBIRDS, LAS VEGAS PAY TRIBUTE TO AMERICA250 WITH FLIGHT OVER HOOVER DAM AND AMERICAN FLAG INSTALLATION
The U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds soared over Hoover Dam and its 45,000-square-foot American flag on Tuesday, June 30. Departing from their longtime home at Nellis Air Force Base, the Thunderbirds' iconic six-aircraft delta formation flew over Hoover Dam at 9:13 a.m. before continuing to Washington, D.C., where they will participate in the Salute to America250. The flyover paid tribute to Southern Nevada's role in America’s story and came just days after the Thunderbirds' June 27 return to the skies over Las Vegas, their first appearance over the valley since 2020. FORMULA 1 TO RACE ON THE STREETS OF LAS VEGAS THROUGH 2037
Formula 1 will continue racing in Las Vegas, the Sports and Entertainment Capital of the World, through to 2037, following a new 10-year extension. Las Vegas Grand Prix, Inc., Clark County officials and the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA), have all committed to the long-term future of one of the standout events on both the United States and global sporting calendar. Since debuting on the Formula 1 calendar in 2023, the Las Vegas Grand Prix has delivered $3.2 billion in cumulative economic impact for Southern Nevada, with all three races from 2023 through 2025 selling out and helping position Las Vegas among the sport’s marquee destinations worldwide. In 2025 alone, the race generated $43 million in state and local tax revenue, including $15 million allocated to support local K-12 education. Beyond its economic impact, the event continues to make a meaningful difference in the community through the Las Vegas Grand Prix Foundation, which has contributed more than $2 million to nonprofit organizations and created educational opportunities for hundreds of Clark County School District students and local community groups throughout the year.
