SEOUL, South Korea, June 2, 2026 – NEXEN TIRE, a leading global tire manufacturer, announced the launch of its new Ultra-High Performance (UHP) tire, the N'FERA Primus UX. Following its launch in Korea on June 1, the tire is debuting in the Asia-Pacific and Middle East markets, marking NEXEN TIRE’s full-scale drive to target the global replacement tire market.
The N'FERA Primus UX is a high-performance tire that delivers a 20% improvement in tread wear performance over its predecessor. Designed as part of NEXEN TIRE's One Universal Fit strategy, the tire is engineered to deliver optimal performance across all vehicle segments, ranging from EVs and ICE vehicles to SUVs. The tire also carries NEXEN TIRE's proprietary EV ROOT certification mark, which ensures consistent performance across both electric and internal combustion vehicles.
To support this versatility, overall performance has been comprehensively improved. By strengthening the reinforcement to maintain the tire's shape, high-speed stability is enhanced. An expanded contact patch further improves driving stability, and an optimized tread block design minimizes road noise.
Alongside these performance gains, the company also focused on improving fuel efficiency. By applying a new advanced-material compound that reduces energy loss, the tire extends tread life. Furthermore, its aerodynamic sidewall design minimizes air resistance, boosting fuel economy for internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles and maximizing the driving range of electric vehicles (EVs).
The development of the N'FERA Primus UX leverages NEXEN TIRE’s advanced AI and virtual simulation expertise. Utilizing an AI-powered performance prediction system and a high-dynamic driving simulator—introduced for the first time in the domestic automotive industry—the company mathematically simulates tire performance in a virtual environment identical to actual driving conditions, enabling faster measurement and improvement in development efficiency.
