- N’FERA Supreme S and N’FERA Primus QX EV selected as OE fitments to support expansion in Chinese EV market
SEOUL, South Korea, January 6, 2026 - NEXEN TIRE, a leading global tire manufacturer, announced that it has begun supplying original equipment (OE) tires for the all-new ELEXIO, Hyundai Motor’s newly launched electric SUV developed exclusively for the Chinese market.
Built on Hyundai Motor Group’s Electric-Global Modular Platform (E-GMP), ELEXIO is the first electric dedicated vehicle produced by Beijing Hyundai. NEXEN TIRE is supplying two of its ultra-high-performance products for the model: the N’FERA Supreme S and N’FERA Primus QX EV.
The N’FERA Supreme S is a flagship all-season tire designed for both electric and ICE vehicles. It features an AI-driven low-noise tread pattern that enhances ride comfort, along with an AI-designed load distribution structure that increases the contact area for improved driving stability—especially for high-load vehicles such as EVs and SUVs. Equipped with a 4D compound and pattern shape retention technology, the tire maintains its performance even after wear, while the aerodynamic sidewall design reduces air resistance to enhance overall energy efficiency.
The N’FERA Primus QX EV, also supplied for the ELEXIO, is an ultra-high-performance summer tire engineered for the dynamic driving characteristics of electric vehicles. Its small-groove tread design improves cornering stability and lateral grip, while its cross-ditch design boosts water evacuation and slip resistance. The tire’s optimized shoulder width and tie-bar technology further enhance handling responsiveness and stability during cornering.
Since launching its overseas OE business in 2012, NEXEN TIRE has established itself as a key supplier to global automakers, including premium brands. The company has also strengthened its technical leadership in the eco-friendly mobility sector by supplying OE tires for Hyundai’s IONIQ 6, the all-new NEXO fuel cell electric vehicle, and Kia’s full EV lineup from the EV3 to the EV9.
The OE supply for the ELEXIO represents a meaningful step for NEXEN TIRE in gradually expanding its position as an OE brand in China, a market that is driving the growth of the global electric vehicle industry. As China demonstrates strong preferences for local brands, while OE products are highly regarded in the market, this supply is expected to serve as an opportunity to further enhance NEXEN TIRE’s brand recognition in the local market.
