Shame on them: fighting dual−quality products in EU

Release Date: 25 Apr 2018
MEPs are calling for a crackdown on producers of everything from food to cosmetics to baby products that are selling varying quality at different prices across the EU. At a European Parliament conference, the EPP Group’s Ivan Štefanec says a report he co-authored calls on the EU to set rules on product quality and enforce them to ensure a truly single market in Europe for consumers. Fellow MEP Inese Vaidere called for more name-and-shame publicity of companies that cheat on consumers, noting she buys her coffee in Germany instead of her native Latvia.
