Young EPP Members Discuss Future of Europe

Release Date: 11 Nov 2016
A series of 100-second pitches on how to change Europe for the better was the main novelty of the annual EPP Young Members’ Network meeting in Brussels.

The pitches included calls for more of a social dimension in Europe as well as calls to curb illegal immigration and to combat growing populism and extremism, for example by bringing the Commission closer to European citizens.

European Commission President Jean Claude Juncker listened and responded to the pitches. EU defence policy, research and innovation policy also came under the spotlight during the debates.
