IMF Closure DC Shutdown

The IMF has closed its headquarters in Washington, DC indefinitely as a result of the COVID-19 epidemic.

The Fund has acknowledged two confirmed cases of coronavirus infection among its staff.

Both are recovering, but the IMF has closed access to all but critical support staff and security into the buildings while the building is thoroughly cleaned and evaluated for safety.

The IMF is operating under work-from-home contingency plans and the shutdown is not expected to impact the ongoing work of the organization.
